धन की शक्ति

धन की शक्ति बड़ी सीमित है। उससे शरीर का निर्वाह करने वाले पदार्थ खरीदे जा सकते हैं; जिनकी वास्तविकता बहुत ही सीमित है। जमा किया हुआ अत्यधिक धन किसी के कुछ काम नहीं आता। सब जहाँ-का-तहाँ पड़ा रह जाता है। जिन उत्तराधिकारियों के लिए उसे जोड़ा जाता है, वे उस मुफ्त के माल से बेरहम ऐयाशी करते हैं और उसे बारूद की तरह फूँककर तमाशा देखते हैं। मुफ्त की मिली हुई पैतृक संपत्ति उत्तराधिकारियों को निकम्मा, आलसी, व्यसनी, फजूलखरची एवं दुर्गुणी बना देती है; इसलिए संतान के लाभ के लिए जोड़ा गया धन वस्तुतः उनकी हानि ही करता है।
