उस दुष्टता का नाम है; जिसमें मनुष्य पशुता से नीचे उतरकर पैशाचिकता के स्तर तक जा पहुँचता है। चोरी, उठाईगीरी, बेईमानी, शोषण, अपहरण, हत्या, लूट, डकैती, ठगी जैसे दुष्कर्म इसी श्रेणी में आते हैं। जब तक मनुष्य स्वार्थी, असहयोगी, स्वेच्छाचारी रहता है; तब तक वह पशु कहा जाता है, पर जब आक्रमणकारी बन जाता है और दूसरों के अधिकारों के अपहरण के लिए 'जिसकी लाठी उसकी भैंस' वाला जंगल का कानून हाथ में लेता है; तो उसे अपराधी कहते हैं।
