मैत्री संबंध

मित्रता स्थापित करने से पूर्व, उस व्यक्ति को जिससे कि मैत्री संबंध जोड़ने जा रहे हैं, उस व्यक्ति को अच्छी तरह देख-परख लेना चाहिए। इस पवित्र तथा हार्दिक संबंध के लिए वे ही व्यक्ति उपयुक्त माने जा सकते हैं, जो स्वभावतः सज्जन हों, जिनके गुण, कर्म, स्वभाव में शालीनता एवं उत्कृष्टता का समावेश हो। जिन व्यक्तियों का जीवन अविश्वसनीय, अस्त-व्यस्त तथा पतनोन्मुख रहा है और अब भी जिन्होंने अपने मन व आचरण को विश्वास योग्य नहीं बनाया है, वे मित्रता के योग्य नहीं माने जा सकते। ऐसे निकृष्ट व्यक्ति कितना ही विश्वास क्यों न दिलाएँ, कितनी ही शपथ क्यों न करें, इनकी लंबी-चौड़ी बातों में नहीं आना चाहिए।

Before establishing friendship, the person with whom the friendship is going to be established, that person should be thoroughly looked after. For this sacred and heartfelt relationship, only those persons can be considered suitable, who are gentlemen in nature, whose qualities, deeds, nature include decency and excellence. People whose life has been unreliable, chaotic and fall-oriented and even now who have not made their mind and conduct believable, they cannot be considered worthy of friendship. No matter how much such lowly people give confidence, no matter how much they swear, one should not get involved in their lofty talk.
